Bus short-cut route worries residents

<!-- by line --><!-- end by line -->

WHY is SBS service 33 permitted to use the stretch of Lorong Sarina as a short cut to Sims Avenue East from Telok Kurau Road?
It does not serve the residents of Lorong Sarina in any way, except to contribute to noise and air pollution. I am also concerned by the constant vibrations caused by the buses and the effect on the retaining walls of houses on both sides of the road.
It has been more than three and a half years since we brought this matter to the attention of our Member of Parliament, Dr Ong Seh Hong, when he visited us and asked for feedback.
We have also raised the matter at Dr Ong's Meet-the-People session twice, the latest being in June, all to no avail. We are at our wits' end because no relevant authority has stepped up to address our problem.
Magdalene Koh (Madam)

Selfish bitch, if that is the case all houses along the main road would have collapsed a long time ago.

Mdm Koh,

Please be informed that we have looked into your complaint. Just because you don't use the bus and are driving (which I presume you do) does not mean that others also don't commute by bus in your area. For your worries that the buses are vibrating the walls of the "Ang Moh Chu" in the area, I'm very sorry but that is something the bus cannot help as it is travelling. If you are a bored tai tai with nothing to do in your spare time except to comprain over such elitist matters, please go to the two casinos the garment have built for your amusement and don't bother us anymore. Thank you.

Mdm Koh,
It was nice meeting you in your abode, & thank you for your nice cup of coffee & kueh lapis. It was lovely meeting your family, especially your children. I have pass on the complaint you have mde to my subordinates & who had passed on to the relavant goverments who are looking into your complaints & they are still formulating a solution.

We will revert to you after they have done a comprehensive survey & study & have a solution to the problem in which you have put forth, we would thank you for your patience; and also thanking you for your support all these years.

I thank you once again for your hospitality & look forward in serving you for more years to come.

Yes we have been reviewing the problem for the last 3 years. Being the people's MP and not just Lorong Sarina's MP, we have to strike the best balance that serve the majority's need. Our original intention was to designate the road as full time bus lane. In view of the needs of Lorong Sarina's residents, we felt the best compromise was allow both buses and cars to use the road.

On a separate note, your problem can be solved by selling the lousy condo built by ah beng contractor. The government has helped to boost your property price by 100% hence it is easy for you to take the cash and buy a better quality flat as sengkang.

Mdm Koh,

Thank you for your feedback. As you know, we the garment is deaf to criticisms and we will only do what we think is right. Even if we know it's a bitter pill to swallow, we will administer it. What to do? This is how we work. You don't like it, please fark off, we will always have a ready pool of FT to replace your vote. Please also be reminded that we are responsible for you to be living in a "Ang Mo Chu". If we are not the garment, your sisters, mothers and daughters will all be working as foreign domestic maids overseas.

Your friendly MP.
