There is no distortion.

A medal tally is collection of ALL medals won at a games.

China wins on Gold Medal tally but USA wins on Overall Medal tally.

But if you ask me, the antics of the Chinese have ruined this magnificant medal haul.

The need to highlight the fact that USA tops the medal table reeks of a sore loser nation that cannot accept that the USA is no longer the top sporting nation in the Olympics.

Ths US of A should learn to be gracious that they have lost and not try to put a positive spin to hide their disappointment or inferiority complex.

How would the US of A like it if another country rained on their glory by publishing another headline eg: "Country X tops the table in number of athletes participation in the Olympics."

Doesn't the US of A know that only the country of the Gold Medalists is honoured at each event by the playing of their National Anthem, and not that of the Silver or Bronze Medalist? The Olympic Games is mainly about Gold Medals, the Silver and Bronze are just consolation prizes.

The world only remembers who was the first up Mt Everest or who reached the South Pole first, the 2nd or next person who climbed Mt Everest or reached the South Pole is NOT remembered.

Bro, Agree with you. US is such a sore loser. Medals tally is ranked according to difficulty of medal types, with gold being the most difficult to attain.

As I mentioned before, CNN channel is an anti-China & anti-Asia news channel. Watch it & you will know what I mean.

To those people who agree with CNN's way of ranking the medals tally, they are simply nuts or they just simply SPG or pro-Angmoh. Just check with IOC & you will know who is right.
