　　8月13日，有关军方消息人士表示，经过多次测试完毕后，中国第一艘航母预计在明年八一建军节正式交付海军服役；航母归属中央军委直接指挥，初步计划日后在南海服役。著名军事战略家乔良将军表示，航母是今天大国海军的标志。

　　中国拥有航母将急剧扩大作战半径，使防卫重点突破第一岛链。“生逢其时”，乔良对中国改造航母问世如此评价。迄今为止，制空权依然是海上作战必要条件。特别在远离本土的区域，航母的地位依然无可替代。

　　在乔良看来，航母是一种战略武器，但其真正作为战役甚至战术兵器的作用在“二战”之后就结束了。虽然世人对航母充满敬畏之心，但航母的本质就是海上活动机场。“一艘航母从日本横须贺港出发，到达马六甲海峡一个星期，到达红海就是下一个星期了，而通过导弹打击，在一个小时甚至半个小时内就可以完成。未来战争对抗的关键是空天力量，因为快、准、清晰。过去航母称霸一时，主要是因为海上物流或陆上运输主导经济活动，现在的资本活动敲键盘就可以完成。”乔良说。

　　“对于大国形象来说，航母是有象征性意义的，对海军来说，航母的加入能增强实际作战能力和威慑力，又是有实际意义的。前几年中国就在改造航母，中国航母将在国际水道上保障我国所需要的能源、资源顺利进入中国。航母除了防卫领土、领空、领海安全，还能保障中国在海外人员的安全和利益。”乔良说。

PRC general admits that carrier is just nothing but a token show piece. Real combat value for carriers were gone since end of WW2. He said a USA carrier will need 1 week to move from Japan to Malaysia, another week to Red Sea that is WAR OVER, because a missile would had everything done in this distance within 1hr or 30 mins.

Explain how the equation works.

The US is a full democracy with structured checks and balances. Any action that is contrary to human rights is better addressed by a democratic system. The Congress will step in, the President will be impeached etc. There is multiple safety values.

China if you had noticed is a country where the people have no say. A few crackpots can start a war and annihilate part of the world. If it was democracy and it was structured democratically, they US will be happily selling them parts and making money out of it.

Name me the country that slaughtered its own citizens in recent years and is a superpower.

Send bombs filled with curry odour. Since they cannot stand Singapore curry, easily way to knock them out is with curry smell

Hell, of course the aircraft carrier is use as a get away for the rulers in case a revolt like the Arab revolt happens. I understand that it is fitted with 6 stars accommodation and vaults fill with at least 60 tons of pure gold and all the treasures. Its guarded 24 hours a day and never leave the Sattahip port just waiting for the day to come. Shit I think I got mixed up and talking about the wrong carrier HTMS Chakri Naruebet.

Bombs cannot deliver your ground troops who can help you secure the area for further military use. You cannot just keep bombing. You bomb bomb then enemy hide in super bunker. After you finish bomb how? Your troops still sitting on your sandbag and the war continues to wait for the carrier group to come and whack you.

There is no value of carrier being considered as a form of transportation of ground troops either. Too slow! These days you MUST fly troops. Keeping troops and even weapons on ship for days or weeks to reach a destination is too pig a risky exposure to be killed and sunk together. The low speed itself be another great disadvantage. The carrier as a troop transport is too easy to be monitored, tracked attacked and defeated. Enemy also have too much time to counter deploy against your slow moving plan.
