They can do whatever they want because they have the "power" and numbers to do so in parliament. If Singaporeans do not want this to happen perhaps they should vote in more opposition. That is in essence how democracy is suppose to work. Singaporean have nothing but to blame themselves for allowing this to happen. They should look to why they have allowed the MIWs to set policies like these instead of complaining online. The opposition are useless as well, they could have produced a "counter" white paper about the adverse effects of a population at 6.9mil and an "alternative" for economic growth. All I hear is that its "worrying", "they haven't learned their lessons" etc etc. So, what are they going to do if they were to set a population policy?
