It has never been cool to be associated with PAP, NTUC, DBS, Singtel, you get the idea.

PAP kindergartens are a last resort for many parents.

NTUC building with the big-ass cheesy logo on top and the people who work in it Allen & Gledhill lawyers notwithstanding, is often derided and scoffed at by other yuppies in the area, especially those who work at ORQ.

DBS bank. No way in hell will i bank with them ever again. Their entire setup and customer service turns me off. They are such a heartlander bank yet have the audacity to act high end. Treasures actually snubbed me and did not call me back. I took my business as well as my relatives' business to UOB and OCBC instead and found a world of difference in service standards. UOB and OCBC relationship managers were actually eager to serve.

Singtel. They have improved somewhat, they don't put you on hold for 30 mins like they used to do. Overall service still smacks of complacency and the incumbent attitude that stemmed from their monopolistic past.

What these 4 organisations have in common: highly government linked entities. That's where they get their arrogance, complacency, incompetence and utter laziness from. It is like semi-private sector version of the civil service/stat board.

Not sure if I agree. It is not that PAP do not want them but their other way around. The good chaps with proven record do not want their names tainted by being associated with the PAP. I know a few who have been approached but have quietly turned them down. They don't mind giving political donations but they do not want to be associated with the PAP. In this day and age, even their kids think that it not cool to be associated with the PAP.

One of the reasons that PAP has been approaching Malaysians to run is that no one is keen. Take the case of Foo Mee Har. There are so many people in StanChart that are more capable than her. Then look at the NTUC chap

These chaps knew that they could easily walk in and gotten a million dollars salary but they chose to eschew it and not be stigmatised. So you get fucktards like Foo, Tin, soldier boy Chan....filling the bandwagon. Must speak volumes about what the image of PAP is now. If LHL and his tea party selection committee still dont get it, then they deserve to lose more votes the next GE.

These problems that brought them down have been simmering, festering for over 5 years, and GCT (who performed very well when he debutted) pronounced the ground was sweet some 3 to 4 months before the Polls, only to ride into a perfect storm of problems, a better Opposition side, and sheer voters' wrath just before the polls, declaring the ground not so sweet after all. This is another idiot who's been sleeping thru his term full of hubris and complacency. Just because one old man thinks he is always right, the whole PAP circus toed the line, to insist that the Singapore peasants must listen to the emperor and good things will come out of it and ignored the pent-up fury and anger at the ballot boxes only to emerge smarting thru their victory.

Singaporeans have also to throw out nonsensical statements that just because you are in the Opposition, you must be the destructive party. This is the kind of rubbish used to be dished out by the Old Man and reinforced by the compliant msm, so much so that such lies began to don a veneer of truism. Was it Adolf Hitler - or Goebbels - who said that when one utters a lie often enough, people will begin to believe it is the truth. When Tan Jee Say said that 'gratitude is not servitude', some even thought that he was being ungrateful and was using strong language! you also have idiots like GY who believed that you must know yr place in the order of things when you criticised your emperors and kings. Good thing now he's gone and we can bury others like him.

Even if the ST adopts a non-partisan stance (not that it would), the shortcomings of the ruling party is already known to all and sundry. The poor quality of the pap ministers (those before and after GE2011) has led and will lead to poor policies. Now they are unable to attract the best and brightest anymore. Hence we have poor stock in the form of MG Chan, BG Tan, TPL, FMH, amongst others.

The pap is in decline. Its brand name does not stir the hearts and minds anymore. Its hey days were from the 1960s-90s, long gone. Welcome to a new era for Singapore.

Again the Prince of Lanfang MG Chan C S was painted by Straits Times as PM material. Such printed sick joke made it difficult to swallow. No wonder Singapore has sank too deep with poor quality PM for many years.

There are proabably more letters that applaud the departure of the deadwood and calls for the remaining ones to go. But don't expect the 154th party newsletter to publish them. Talking about change, this is one bastion that is stubbornly refusing to do so!

Do agree that we have a ready talent pool but these guys will never sell their soul.

I do sincerely believe that there is a lot of local talent who want to serve Singapore for Singaporeans. The track record and perception of PAP is a party that fixes people rather than the country and thus we now see talent showing up in the opposition, because they cannot take it anymore of the misrule and abuse by the PAP and the Lees, especially that one Lee. PAP after Lee, has never been about serving the country but serving Lee for his own masturbation of what Singapore should be to him and for him.

Agree completely. If the PAP wants to deliver real change, they will have to cut the cord to the press completely. Until then we will never see the clear picture of what is actually going on in this country.

2 things about these bootlicking forum writers never fail to amuse me:

1. The way they write as if those overpaid bureaucrats hold the secret or last chapter to the cure for cancer or to propul the rocket.

2. The fact that they never forget to use their real full names in the letters. Can't remember ever seeing a letter using a pseuodonym like "asslicker, porlumpar or sahkar". This merely begs the question about these bootlickers "What do they want?"
