The main and sub-contractor at a construction site at Bugis Station have been charged in court over a collapse that resulted in the deaths of two migrant workers.
Soletanche Bachy-Koh Brothers Joint Venture, the occupier of the site, is said to have failed to take measures to ensure that the workplace was safe and without risks to health to every person within the premises on July 18 last year.
The company allegedly failed to ensure that the formwork structures were inspected and certified by a professional engineer before the placement of concrete, and ensure that a formwork supervisor regularly inspected the structures.
This resulted in an accident that caused the deaths of Mr Dou Chunjie and Meng Huai You and injured eight others.
