are there homeless around Singapore? are there destitute in Singapore? the last me heard about this current fad in schools, don't school kiddos do CIP to collect CIP hours these days? there's even overseas CIPs if me isn't mistaken?

why not start one in their own backyards? travel around Singapore in the wee hours of the morning and let the truth to be told, connect the poor to the various agencies which provide help for this group of people. that would be a true blue Community Involvement Project.:eek::eek:

Good idea.
At the moment, there are lots of helpful people going overseas to help the poor and sick.
These are kind chaps, but there are plenty in SG who need help too.

There are also people who talk about giving pensions to sportsmen from other countries who become SG citizens and others who organize donations for the bereaved family of a foreigner who tragically died in the swimming pool of a rich man's bungalow.

There is a chap who was out at about 4am in the morning. He spotted a woman in her late 70s collecting empty cans and other misc items from bins. The woman told this person she needs to collect such items for her meals. She lives on the streets. Male chap handed to her 10k.

only you could give such vivid detail, me salute you, bro :):):)
me couldn't do better, can only spare a small amount to the charity at the end of the year. the donation sum is from the dividend, which is derived from the USD100 boss Sam awarded me for the 10,000th post in the forum :o:o:o

While 10k may be peanuts to this chap, the act is commendable coz he wasn't in it for publicity.

This is spontaneous act of kindness and generosity. Short and sharp, no need to write white paper to present, argue and justify why he should give. :D

The fact that you did think about those who are in need and less fortunate in itself already a commendable act. The amount isn't that important. Hope more would be like you. Thanks
