Traffic police officer arrests lorry driver for attempt to bribe

SINGAPORE - A 64-year-old lorry driver was arrested on Nov 16 for attempting to bribe a traffic police officer.
The driver was stopped by Sergeant Fadli Shaifuddin along the Ayer Rajah Expressway for talking on his mobile phone while driving.
While summoning the driver, the 64-year-old man offered Sergeant Fadli $100 to let him off.
However, the officer rejected the bribe, placed the suspect under arrest and referred him to the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) for the offence of bribery.
