Really, cannot connect what you trying to say???!!!. Chinese characters I am referring to are the words in the Chinese words, many of them depicted the stories from the Bible. Good examples are Chinese words of Temple, Boat, Righteousness, Good, Devil.

The four Chinese words that I gave are just examples. There are dozens of them, and even though in proportion to the total number of Chinese words, the percentage is small. But that's not the point. The key points are:

(a) Why many of the Chinese words (couple of dozens, and not four) are used so precisely to depict the Bible stories of the Old and New Testaments. I have given the word "Temple" - A temple with the Cross of Jesus is not temple!. Let me give another example of the word "Devil". This Chinese word describes the Genesis story of Adam and Eve in the garden when they were tempted by the devil. In this Chinese character, there were two trees representing the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that God prohibited Adam and Eve to eat and another tree that has the fruits which Adam and Eve could eat. Why two trees - not three, not four, and to begin, why the Chinese character of tree has to do with Devil. There was no such Chinese stories or legends to tell about this except the Bible. Also, in the Chinese word Devil, it also contains another character - garden. Why the Devil needed to be in the garden and not in the desert, in the ocean, or on the mountain? Another example is the word righteousness. The Chinese word righteousness tells the story of Jesus, the Son of God was killed as a lamb by His own people - remember Jesus was betrayed by Judas who was one of the disciples of Jesus. His sacrificial death brings righteousness. Only the blood of Jesus can make us righteous and we cannot do it our efforts. Interestingly, if we refused the blood of Jesus, and walk in opposite direction of what Jesus has commanded, we will end up as unrighteous, unrepented sinner. I hate to use the word "bast....." which you used it so often like taking you meal, but let me tell you, it is interesting to note that if you write the chinese character upside down, you will get the meaning of this word 'bast.....". I don't know how strong or good your Chinese is, but you can ask someone who are well-verse in Chinese and show it to you. Another word is Love, The Chinese chaarcter love contains another word and that is 'heart.' Love without heart is just lipservice and God has said, love your God with all your heart. Want more - go to the google. There are not four, five, six but dozens of the Chinese words that depict precisely the stories from the Bible!

(b) The word of God is very powerful and Satan is not worried about anything except the spread of the word of God, the Bible. Over many centuries, many people - non-believers and evil people of course - tried to destroy the Bible manuscripts, pervert His words but God has preserved every word. It was told that during Mao Tze Tung's time, he realized that there were so many Chinese words that depict the stories of the Bible that he instructed the Chinese language to be simplified. The intent is to remove some part out so that people cannot relate them to the Bible stories. Could it be true - God knows. But one thing is for sure - in the simplified Chinese character of the word Devil, the character of two trees were removed; in the Chinese character of Love, the word heart was removed; and there are many more of such simpliified Chinese words that destroyed the traditional Chinese words in terms of their contents that were meant to convey God's messages and storeis. Thankfully, Taiwan has chosen to continue to use the traditional Chinese language and this is another miracle that God wants His message - in whatever languages that He has chosen to use for communicating His message - be preserved.

(c) We must note that the Jewish religion of One True God, the LORD has never been preached to the Chinese and only until recently, less than 200 years ago, the Chinese became aware of the religion of Jewish God and of Jesus. Further, Chinese Bible was written less than two hundred years ago, the theology of Jewish religion and Christianity has never been known or seriously studied the by Chinese until just less than 200 years ago, but why so many Chinese words have the stories of the Bible? Use you brain - think about it. Coincidence? By chance? No. This is part of God's way to communicate His message to the most populous nation of the earth - the Chinese!

(d) Perhaps that may be the reason - or rather that is the reason? - that God has told us: The fool in his heart says that there is no God. Satan knows he cannot destroy God's word from people's heart. The best he could do is to make use of his angels, his workers of iniquities (so are you one of them?) to try to destroy God's word. This is the wishful thinking of Satan because history has proved, the word of God cannot be destroyed. The second way, of course, Satan will use the same group to tell people that there is no God, don't trust the blood of Jesus, human beings merely came from monkeys or from some other beasts.

(e) Langauges are used bascially for communicaiton but different language has different purpose. Everybody knows that the language of English is the business international language because English is very easy to use. This will never change. Even though Chinese has progressed, the Chinese language will not and cannot be the business international langauge. The reason is very simple. It's is very user-unfriendy and even with modern compters, it very clumsy to type in Chinese. It's one of the most inefficient languages but this language has an important role - communicating God's message! Added to this, are the languages of Hebrew and Greek. These two languages have nuneric (or gematria) code and with the modern computers, it is very amazing to discover some of the numeric bible codes that were hidden in the Bible which are now started to revealed. There are thousands of articles on this. Interesting, to my knowledge, only two languages write from right to left and that is the Chinese and Hebrew languages. Writing right to left is every inefficient and hence they are the 'last languages' that can be used for business. They (Hebrew, Greek, Chinese) are the languages that God used to communicate His messages!

e ) the beauty of religious mania is that it has the power to explain everything. once God (or Satan) is accepted as the first cause of everything which happens in the mortal world, nothing is left to chance...logic can be happily tossed out the window

Am I stupid - Yes! 100% but only in the eyes of the world. But when God says you are a fool, that where you need to worry!

Chinese words with Bible story - less than 10%. Frankly, I think is even less than this. I really don't know. But number doesn't matter. The question is "WHY?" Chinese hated Jewish God, Christian God and hated Bible but why there are so many Chinese words depicting the stories from the Bible both the Old and the New Testaments? Chinese language was invented many years before the birth of Christ and yet the stories in the New Teatament were encoded in many Chinese words? Among this, the most interesting word to me is the word "Righteousness". Our righteousness can only come from Jesus, the Lamb of God and if you claim righteousness on your own accord and disrgard the blood of the Lamb, see what you can become: bastxxxx! I hate to use this word 'bastxxxxx' which you use so often like eating your food but the bible truth that you will become one if you refuse the blood of Jesus and accept the cross of His sacrifice! Just go to someone who is well-versed in Chinese language and break this word "Righteiousness which actually consisted of three other Chinese words and read them the downside up and you will get the meaning of "bast....". Why? Concidence? No! This is God's message and God's warning that if you refuse the blood of Jesus and repent of your sin, that's what you will become! The second most interesting word to me is the word "Temple". Why should two crosses be in this word? Answer is simple: without the cross of Jesus, there is no temple. So worship where you like but if our life is devoid of Jesus, our worship is going to be in vain. That's why God says to us the our body is the temple of God and unless you let the cross of Jesus be part of your body, you cannot enter into His holy temple - the heavenly kingdom that God has installed of us. Interesting to also note that in the Old Testament, Jesus was propheized to be hung on a tree (and of course the cross being made of wood has thus fulfilled with prophesy) but yet the Chinese language is so precise to use two crosses in the Chinese word Temple. Coincidence? No! God already planned that His Only Begotten Son, Jesus would come and sacrifice for sinners and be hung on the cross! The Chinese word Temple has in fact contained part of the text of the Old Testament and part of the text of the New Testament. The word is simple but if you go into the word in detail, you can see God's writing is extremely precise and you can connect the stories of the Bible of the Old Testament right to the New Testament even with a simple Chinese word like Temple.

Dark ages - Hmmn - I have not written this before and thanks for giving me the idea. I will write this as one of my messages. In the meantime, for all the other readers, go and find out more about this. Just of this message here and I will share with more details later, the Dark Ages was all because of fake religion of the Bible and it was packaged as Roman Catholics (RC), and many of their teaching that taught by the RC exactly contradict the Bible e.g. worshipping of Mary, prayer through the saints, idolatry, Pope's word rather than Bible is the final authority. These are just a few I have named.

Destruction of Ai

Then the LORD said to Joshua, "Do not be afraid or discouraged. Take the entire army and attack Ai, for I have given to you the king of Ai, his people, his city, and his land. You will destroy them as you destroyed Jericho and its king. But this time you may keep the captured goods and the cattle for yourselves. Set an ambush behind the city." Joshua chose thirty thousand fighting men and sent them out at night with these orders: "Hide in ambush close behind the city and be ready for action. When our main army attacks, the men of Ai will come out to fight as they did before, and we will run away from them. We will let them chase us until they have all left the city. For they will say, 'The Israelites are running away from us as they did before.' Then you will jump up from your ambush and take possession of the city, for the LORD your God will give it to you. Set the city on fire, as the LORD has commanded. You have your orders." So they left that night and lay in ambush between Bethel and the west side of Ai. But Joshua remained among the people in the camp that night.

Early the next morning Joshua roused his men and started toward Ai, accompanied by the leaders of Israel. They camped on the north side of Ai, with a valley between them and the city. That night Joshua sent five thousand men to lie in ambush between Bethel and Ai, on the west side of the city. So they stationed the main army north of the city and the ambush west of the city. Joshua himself spent that night in the valley. When the king of Ai saw the Israelites across the valley, he and all his army hurriedly went out early the next morning and attacked the Israelites at a place overlooking the Jordan Valley. But he didn't realize there was an ambush behind the city. Joshua and the Israelite army fled toward the wilderness as though they were badly beaten, and all the men in the city were called out to chase after them. In this way, they were lured away from the city. There was not a man left in Ai or Bethel who did not chase after the Israelites, and the city was left wide open.

Then the LORD said to Joshua, "Point your spear toward Ai, for I will give you the city." Joshua did as he was commanded. As soon as Joshua gave the signal, the men in ambush jumped up and poured into the city. They quickly captured it and set it on fire. When the men of Ai looked behind them, smoke from the city was filling the sky, and they had nowhere to go. For the Israelites who had fled in the direction of the wilderness now turned on their pursuers. When Joshua and the other Israelites saw that the ambush had succeeded and that smoke was rising from the city, they turned and attacked the men of Ai. Then the Israelites who were inside the city came out and started killing the enemy from the rear. So the men of Ai were caught in a trap, and all of them died. Not a single person survived or escaped. Only the king of Ai was taken alive and brought to Joshua.

When the Israelite army finished killing all the men outside the city, they went back and finished off everyone inside. So the entire population of Ai was wiped out that day – twelve thousand in all. For Joshua kept holding out his spear until everyone who had lived in Ai was completely destroyed. Only the cattle and the treasures of the city were not destroyed, for the Israelites kept these for themselves, as the LORD had commanded Joshua. So Ai became a permanent mound of ruins, desolate to this very day. Joshua hung the king of Ai on a tree and left him there until evening. At sunset the Israelites took down the body and threw it in front of the city gate. They piled a great heap of stones over him that can still be seen today. (Joshua 8:1-29 NLT)



Killing at Jericho

When the people heard the sound of the horns, they shouted as loud as they could. THE DISHONEST CHURCH by Jack Good, Rising Star Press, 2003 was, for me, a very exciting read. The author's argument is that in today's mainline Protestant churches (Methodist, Presbyterian, United Church of Christ, Anglican) there exists a gap of dishonesty between the clergy and the laity that is one of the causes of these churches losing membership. The gap finds its genesis in what the clergy learn in the academy (academic Christianity) and what they preach in the church (popular Christianity). As the educational levels and world experiences of the laity who have traditionally been attracted to these churches have increased, their level of "cognitive development" has moved from the early stage ("basic duality"/a child's faith) to a later stage ("relativism"/opinion independently developed); some continue to an even later stage of cognitive development ("commitment") in which not knowing all the answers is okay, mystery is acceptable.

Clergy, for many reasons not the least of which is the fear of offending laity who are in the early stage, tend to preach what these people are comfortable in hearing even though it may be diametrically opposed to what the latest streams of thought in theology (and even science) are saying. Members who have moved beyond the early stage become disheartened-even outright angry-when they sense they are being patronized and not respected. Rather than speaking up and trying to rectify a situation they believe to be beyond their power to influence-after all, the clergy seems unwilling to address their concerns-they simply disappear.

This book is a call to what the author calls "progressive Christianity" in which the clergy and the laity both seek to live faithfully in the modern world, not by denying that world, but by learning from it and interpreting the faith in its light. This book is not for those who yearn for that "old time religion" but for those who honestly seek to understand the world in which they live.

I would recommend that every minister, denominational official, seminary professor, and layperson who wants to see Christianity continue into the future in a vibrant, meaningful way and not wither into irrelevance read this book. They should not read it if they want to remain comfortable.

When I was a youngster Jack Good was the inspiration behind 50's TV pop music programmes like 'Six Five Special' and 'O Boy!', then essential teenage viewing on flickering black and white TV screens. I was growing up in a church oriented family under a Congregational minister Dad and the surrounding traditional Christianity ethos was absorbed almost unconsciously into my developing life, where it remained unchallenged for over 40 years. Then came Jack Spong, Richard Holloway & Co, and suddenly Christianity woke me up. On a recent visit to The Centre for Progressive Christianity at www.tcpc.org I discovered a flier for 'The Dishonest Church' by Jack Good, who subsequently has proved to be as compelling for me as his 50's namesake, though for rather different reasons!

While many of the proliferating books on progressive Christianity refer to the difference between what most clergy learn through their training and what they communicate to their congregations, the 'church of the gaps' (to misquote Charles Coulson) has not had a book to itself, until now. The author has been an ordained pastor of the United Church of Christ for over 40 years, principally at churches in New York and Illinois. His book was prompted by a combination of concern for the fate of the Christian church and anger at the "..wide gap between the faith of the religious professionals and the faith of those who look to those professionals for leadership."
So much pulpit power is expended to reinforce stale dogma that Christianity is seldom seen as an arena for thoughtful creativity and a search for truths that can never be fully possessed. The result is usually stale, boring churches where the superficial intimacy between pulpit and pew is in reality a yawning chasm, in both senses.

How this situation breeds anxiety and suspicion is dramatically illustrated in the first chapter where an incident is related from an interview between a friend of the author's and the members of a prospective new pastorate. A rather hostile, conservative member asked if the applicant believed in a literal virgin birth, to which the pastor replied that his views on that matter were the same as St Paul. The member nodded approvingly and the interview moved on. The members of that church being ignorant of the fact that Paul never mentioned the birth of Christ may have handed a private 'victory' to the pastor, but demonstrates the tragic ignorance, fear and distrust that threaten the survival of the Christian church.

There are some good descriptive phrases that were new to me. People whose faith sees God in control with ultimate justice prevailing are described as "chaos intolerant" while those who can encompass the reality of cosmic messiness are "chaos tolerant". Both approaches are evident in the writings of the various biblical authors.

While there is plenty of justified criticism of church leadership here, there is much hope also. Reasons for the author's optimism include his belief that, contrary to the assumptions of most church leaders:
- more people now are ready to hear life-relevant spiritual teaching
- church members are more flexible in their scriptural attitudes
- people are being challenged more generally to surrender their superstitions.

Jack Good's ideas, communication skills and practical common sense have produced a stimulating, accessible book that should be compulsory reading for all church leaders. Surely in its truest sense that means everyone in the church.

If asked to name the gravest scandal in American society during the last century, most Americans, I suspect, would name the Watergate affair, which brought down a President.

They'd be wrong.

Jack Good is an ordained pastor in the United Church of Christ, retired from decades of preaching in New York and Illinois. In "The Dishonest Church," Good reveals that most of his fellow pastors in the mainstream American churches are systematically preaching from their pulpits teachings which they themselves know to be blatant lies.

Why the systematic lying?

The basic problem, Good explains, is a divergence during the last several centuries between what he calls "academic" Christianity and what he dubs "popular" Christianity. As early as the Renaissance, scholars such as Erasmus began applying the intellectual tools that were being developed in science, history, etc. to better understand, purify, and solidify their Christian faith.

By the eighteenth-century Enlightenment, an increasing number of scholars and intellectuals were coming to realize that Christianity could not actually be historically true. In the nineteenth century, the floodgates opened. From David Strauss's "Life of Jesus" to Albert Schweitzer's "The Quest of the Historical Jesus," scholarly research proved that the Bible was a crazy mish-mash of garbled history, Jewish mythology, and fantasies based on pagan stories of "virgin" births, resurrected savior gods, etc.

By the early twentieth century, F. C. Burkitt, in an introduction to Schweitzer's famous book, could confidently assert as an established fact among educated people, "Every one nowadays is aware that traditional Christian doctrine about Jesus Christ is encompassed with difficulties, and that many of the statements in the Gospels appear incredible in the light of modern views of history and nature."

How can it be that most Americans are ignorant of this?

Good opens his book with a telling anecdote:

"One of my clergy friends boasts of a comment he made in an interview with a pastoral search committee. A somewhat hostile member of the committee demanded to know if this prospective pastor believed in a literal virgin birth. My friend replied that his views on the virgin birth were the same as those of St. Paul. The committee member nodded approvingly, and the discussion went on to other matters."

As Good explains, his friend was counting on the fact that the members of the committee would be ignorant of the fact that nowhere does St. Paul make any reference at all to the virgin birth: scholars assume Paul had no acquaintance whatsoever with the doctrine. Thus, Good's friend, who did not believe in the Virgin Birth, could "honestly" claim to hold the same view as St. Paul!

Good adds, "Clergy tend to see such moments as victories over the benighted folk who occupy church pews."

So, are America's pastors and religious leaders simply pathological liars?

Much of the explanation, Good claims, is simply economic self-interest. He states that "my fellow professionals... are motivated by fear... clergy fear the loss of their jobs... These professionals... are killing the church by their lack of courage."

But Good also titles one of his sections "Pleasure in Power," declaring, "I fear that denominational officials and professional theologians perpetuate the present state of affairs because they have come to enjoy too much their role as sole owners and manipulators of the sacred symbols. Consciously or unconsciously, they leave their church members in a state of semi-darkness because otherwise they would have to share prestige and authority."

Finally, Good concedes that many of his colleagues honestly fear that the adults in their congregations simply lack the maturity to handle the truth and that telling the truth would therefore result in the destruction of Christianity.

The bulk of the book consists of Good's attempts to argue, based on his own experience, that such fears are groundless.

These attempts are unconvincing.

Good has managed to avoid lying to his own congregations, and his churches did not collapse. He concludes that his truthful form of Christianity can survive and even prosper. He argues that there are many "Christians in exile" whose orientation towards life finds "an especially luminous form in Jesus of Nazareth."

His view is short-sighted. There are certainly many Americans who suspect, or know, that the Virgin Birth and Resurrection did not actually occur but who nonetheless wish to be members of a "Christian" church. But is their desire really a result of any personal fascination or adoration for a purely human Jewish carpenter/religious reformer who lived two thousand years ago? Or is it more a matter of familial inertia and social conformity that makes it emotionally difficult for them to make a completely clean break with Christianity?

Good argues that the popular view of Jesus as "an adult equivalent of the child's invisible friend," always there to smooth over the difficulties of life, is untrue to the Gospels. On the contrary, "Jesus never intended to be an answer man. Instead of making human problems go away, he seemed intent on creating a new set of concerns. Through both words and example, he defined the requirements of discipleship... even to the point of joining him in crucifixion."

Yes, and some of us do indeed find this Jesus for grown-ups more inspiring than the Sunday-school Jesus of "Jesus loves me, this I know..."

But why make Jesus the sole or primary center of such inspiration? Why should such concern focus primarily on Jesus rather than on Socrates, Buddha, Tolstoy, the pagan martyr Hypatia (murdered by a brutal Christian mob) or scores of other thoughtful, courageous human beings throughout history?

The appeal of Christianity for rational, educated people who know the truth is simply nostalgia. If everyone comes to know the truth and there are no more "true believers," Christianity will fade away. Good's variety of "progressive" Christianity is simply a temporary rest stop on the road from orthodox Christianity to the final destination of outright atheism.

Good forthrightly declares, "The lying must stop in all Christian congregations." Yes, even if the ultimate result is the end of Christianity.

Chinese words with Bible story - less than 10%. Frankly, I think is even less than this. I really don't know. But number doesn't matter. The question is "WHY?" Chinese hated Jewish God, Christian God and hated Bible but why there are so many Chinese words depicting the stories from the Bible both the Old and the New Testaments? Chinese language was invented many years before the birth of Christ and yet the stories in the New Teatament were encoded in many Chinese words? Among this, the most interesting word to me is the word "Righteousness". Our righteousness can only come from Jesus, the Lamb of God and if you claim righteousness on your own accord and disrgard the blood of the Lamb, see what you can become: bastxxxx! I hate to use this word 'bastxxxxx' which you use so often like eating your food but the bible truth that you will become one if you refuse the blood of Jesus and accept the cross of His sacrifice! Just go to someone who is well-versed in Chinese language and break this word "Righteiousness which actually consisted of three other Chinese words and read them the downside up and you will get the meaning of "bast....". Why? Concidence? No! This is God's message and God's warning that if you refuse the blood of Jesus and repent of your sin, that's what you will become! The second most interesting word to me is the word "Temple". Why should two crosses be in this word? Answer is simple: without the cross of Jesus, there is no temple. So worship where you like but if our life is devoid of Jesus, our worship is going to be in vain. That's why God says to us the our body is the temple of God and unless you let the cross of Jesus be part of your body, you cannot enter into His holy temple - the heavenly kingdom that God has installed of us. Interesting to also note that in the Old Testament, Jesus was propheized to be hung on a tree (and of course the cross being made of wood has thus fulfilled with prophesy) but yet the Chinese language is so precise to use two crosses in the Chinese word Temple. Coincidence? No! God already planned that His Only Begotten Son, Jesus would come and sacrifice for sinners and be hung on the cross! The Chinese word Temple has in fact contained part of the text of the Old Testament and part of the text of the New Testament. The word is simple but if you go into the word in detail, you can see God's writing is extremely precise and you can connect the stories of the Bible of the Old Testament right to the New Testament even with a simple Chinese word like Temple.

Dark ages - Hmmn - I have not written this before and thanks for giving me the idea. I will write this as one of my messages. In the meantime, for all the other readers, go and find out more about this. Just of this message here and I will share with more details later, the Dark Ages was all because of fake religion of the Bible and it was packaged as Roman Catholics (RC), and many of their teaching that taught by the RC exactly contradict the Bible e.g. worshipping of Mary, prayer through the saints, idolatry, Pope's word rather than Bible is the final authority. These are just a few I have named.

"Gerah," the term which appears in the MT means (chewed) cud, and also perhaps grain, or berry (also a 20th of a sheckel, but I think that we can agree that that is irrelevant here). It does *not* mean dung, and there is a perfectly adequate Hebrew word for that, which could have been used. Furthermore, the phrase translated "chew the cud" in the KJV is more exactly "bring up the cud." Rabbits do not bring up anything; they let it go all the way through, then eat it again. The description given in Leviticus is inaccurate, and that's that. Rabbits do eat their own dung; they do not bring anything up and chew on it.

I can accept that ALL religions copied from one another, except the God of the Bible. The languages of Hebrew, Greek and Chinese have inherent features that 'copyrighted' the Bible stories.
