Andrew Loh (TOC) writes on facebook:
The LKY-bashing by some quarters, disguised as "empathy" for his loss, makes me cringe. There is integrity in letting a grieving man grieve - no matter what he may have done in the past. Are we any better than him whom we criticise if we act just as he would or had? Where's the humanity we speak of?
Let me add:
The worst way to try and right the wrongs done by someone is to try and do so at a time when he is grieving the loss of his wife of 63 years.
It is not only inhumane to do this to a fellow human being who's suffering, it also puts... those who are aggrieved (such as the ISA detainees) in a bad light - even if inadvertently.
And to disguise such calls - to right the wrongs - as "empathy" for his loss is just pathetic. Perhaps it wouldn't be so bad if it was an outright criticism of LKY.
I am sorry if any of you feel I am barking up the wrong tree. But if you wanna know what I am referring to, it is this:
