A flat along Toa Payoh North was vandalised by loansharks, STOMPer storm329 writes in an email (Aug 21). According to the police, the block has been hit badly by loanshark vandals in recent months and they will step up patrol.

The STOMPer says:

"It was the day before Minister of Parliament Mr. Zainudin Nordin was set to visit the estate.

"It is at block 203 Toa Payoh North. A few units were being splashed paint and words written on the walls include a name, NRIC number and a mobile number.

"A police report was made at 3.15pm and a cleaner from the Town Council was quick to come down with thinner and paint to clean off and re-paint the corridor.

"According to the cleaner, a few units had been cleaned up, including the lift landing.

"The police sergeant who came to take my statement also confirmed that the block was badly hit by loansharks in recent months and that they will step up patrol."
