SINGAPORE - The police is investigating an incident in which a lorry driver ran over a motorcyclist at a carpark exit in Toa Payoh last Tuesday (Nov 17).
A video of the incident, uploaded by road safety interest group Beh Chia Lor on Facebook on Saturday night, has been viewed more than 230,000 times.
In the minute-long clip, the motorcyclist had stopped at the exit gantry when a lorry laden with gas tanks coming up from behind suddenly accelerated and rammed into him.
The motorcyclist could be seen crawling on the ground as shocked passers-by rushed to his aid.

The carpark barrier was also badly damaged after the lorry drove straight through it.
A police spokesman told The Straits Times that the police was alerted to an accident in Toa Payoh Lorong 6, near block 183, at around 8.40pm on Nov 17.
The lorry driver and the motorcyclist were taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, said the police, while the Facebook post claimed that the motorcyclist suffered a broken leg.
Although the post also said that the lorry driver had been arrested, The Straits Times understands that no arrests related to the case have been made so far.
The post attracted close to 500 comments from outraged netizens condemning the lorry driver's recklessness and wishing the motorcyclist a speedy recovery.
A user by the name of Jackson Sim, who identified himself as the motorcyclist, also commented on the post.
"Thank you all so much for your care, concern and well wishes here, god bless all of you," he wrote.
