TKPS Deaths - MOE COI?

True. Just look at COI for LI riot.

The LI COI has further discredited the pap. That's the reason why we see the rise of young adults (Roy, Amos, Lynn, five Toa Payoh heroes) coming out against the pap.

Another wayang COI by the pap will see more people speaking out against the pap

If SAF soldiers are buried by a NZ volcano we will see whether there will be a COI

Hindsight is alway 20/20.

However you don't need a COI to tell you that everyone in NZ is at risk of a natural disaster and the probabilities of each have been calculated by numerous researches and govt bodies.

Are you stupid or what ? Which part of the report you don't understand that it's the work of nature that killed those kids . You mean those kids already die before the earthquake ? So how many teachers you think are enough to stop earthquake ;) and what kind of qualification are enough to stop the earthquake ? ;)

What reports did you read?

My question to you is, if SAF soldiers were to be buried by volcanic ashes in NZ, do you think there will be a SAF COI?

I don't know what others know. Do you?

You can't deny the facts that the earthquake killed those kids no matter how u want the government to take responsibility for the act of nature .

The COI's responsibility is more than that. If you still don't understand what I am trying to say, go and read my post#1

Answer me , did those kids die because of human error or die because the act of nature ?

You tell me , did those kids die before the earthquake happen ? Answer simple question .

I don't know when and how the kids died. Do you? Should the kids even be there? Was a risk assessment done by TKPS? If so, what did the risk assessment reveal?

We need a COI

The kids should never have died. Since so many died, we need a COI so that mistakes are learnt and not be swept under the carpet

Yes of course there will be one but all COIs are "wayangs" not just the ones in Singpore. NZ is full of bullshit COIs too.

It has become the standard response when a group of people are killed at the same time at the same location. It's the politicians' method of depoliticizing the event so that the electorate can't accuse them of doing nothing.

EG if a train crashes and kills 20 people, an enquiry is set up to determine the cause of the incident and give recommendations.

However 400 people are killed on NZ roads every year but because these deaths are scattered all over the country and happen at random intervals, it is perfectly OK to allow these sorts of numbers to continue yearly.

To summarise if the deaths are newsworthy then a COI is needed. If the deaths are not worthy of news coverage, then a COI is not required even though the cumulative numbers of deaths from the same cause may be massive.

What is the threshold? If two kids had been killed, would a COI be necessary?

2004 Indian Ocean tsunami ... did Indonesia do a COI for 250k loss of lives ?

I'm sure there must have been some sort of recommendation that people should all move 10 km inland to avoid a repeat of the catastrophe.

Is COI meant to be wayang??

No but it always is especially those which are convened to deal with natural disasters.

The truth of the matter is that the world is a dangerous place. We live on this planet at our own peril.

Things aren't going to get any better either. The moon is falling from the sky and there will be dire consequences.

Mankind should spend more time worrying about how to save the species in the long term than to worry about the deaths of a small number of insignificant people from a minor earthquake.

It depends on MOE.

But for this TKPS case, do you think there shd be a COI? I certainly do

So each ministry in Singapore decides on the threshold number or does the cabinet collectively decide for all ministries.

Should a committee be set up to decide the threshold? Should a COI decide whether a committee should be set up or should parliament take a vote?
