THE youngest People's Action Party (PAP) candidate for the coming general election, 27-year-old Tin Pei Ling on Sunday said she had learned to take in her stride criticisms levelled against her by netizens.
In her nine-minute speech at the Young PAP rally on why she agreed to stand for election, she acknowledged the 'storm of online criticism' that had surfaced since her candidacy was announced three weeks ago.
'I take the valid criticisms seriously and humbly,' she said, without elaborating on what these were.
She went on to rebut naysayers who thought her too young and too inexperienced to be able to identify with older Singaporeans and their problems.
'I am young. I am a youth. But I can empathise with and understand the problems that Singaporeans face,' she insisted.
