Video: Car beats red light & hits woman, 30, & 2 children on PMD at Hougang Ave 8 junction
The female car driver, 54, was arrested for reckless driving causing grievous hurt.
A 54-year-old woman was
arrested for reckless driving after a car and a personal mobility device (PMD) were involved in an accident in Hougang on Mar. 11.
A 30-year-old woman and two children, aged six and seven, were taken to hospital following the accident.
Dashcam footage
shared on Facebook page Roads.sg on Mar. 13 showed that the driver had apparently beat the red light.
In the clip, the traffic light at the junction remained red for at least 10 seconds when a red car past the junction and struck a woman riding a PMD along the pedestrian crossing.
Two children were apparently on the PMD with the woman.

A man in a white shirt, who had been walking behind them, can later be seen rushing to render assistance to them after the collision.
Another woman, who was standing on the opposite side of the junction, also ran across to help.

Female car driver arrested
Responding to
Mothership's
queries on Mar. 12, the police said they were alerted at about 5:30pm on Mar. 11, 2026 to an accident involving a car and a PMD at the junction of Hougang Avenue 8 and Hougang Street 61.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said a 30-year-old female PMD rider, a six-year-old boy and a seven-year-old girl were conveyed conscious to hospital.
Two of them were taken to KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, while the third was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
Police arrested the female car driver for reckless driving causing grievous hurt.
Investigations are ongoing.
One witness previously told
Shin Min Daily News that he was at the ground floor of a nearby block when he heard a loud noise.
When he turned around, he saw the aftermath of the accident.
He added that he and other members of the public administered first aid to the injured.
Another witness claimed the female car driver was initially in shock and reportedly only got out of her car to check on the situation after she had calmed down
