Those are good skill sets and having them puts you in a good position to advance no matter where you are or which field you are in.

too many Commando senior officers until dunno what to do so create a VC for him to be IC. 2-3 years from now how? he will say he has done a good job and wait for promotion, then we'll have a Commando BG....might as well create a 2nd Cdo Bn and put all the senior officers there....

This is such a loosey goosey scheme. Join when you want. Leave when you want. Don't want to negative but looks like a something to help people burnish their CVs or just play soldiers. I wish we wouldn't waste money like this.
