ST Engineering has won a contract from the Ministry of Defence to produce a fleet of next generation infantry fighting vehicles.

The contract value was not disclosed.

As of last September, the company's order book was already around $32.6 billion.

The IFVs are to be delivered from 2028 onwards, and will be based on ST Engineering’s Terrex s5, the latest addition to the family of 8x8 armoured fighting platforms.

“Mindef’s selection of the Terrex s5 as its next generation IFV reaffirms our ability in designing and building advanced armoured mobility platforms," says Lim Kok Ann, president of ST Engineering's Land Systems business.

"With our multi-domain expertise and engineering depth, we are confident that the new IFV will deliver outstanding mobility, advanced smart technologies and unmatched adaptability to support Singapore’s future fighting force,” he adds.
