With the redrawing of electoral boundaries in 1988, Blocks 501 to 554 became part of Eunos or Aljunied GRCs. Then it became East Coast GRC in 1997 before the area was carved into the Marine Parade GRC in 2006. Currently it sits in Aljunied GRC, an opposition ward. Civil society organisation Maruah first highlighted the changes last October and continues to ask for transparency on the process of redrawing the electorial boundaries.
