freddie's stage appearance caused me to cringe more than his vocals. those tights, shorts and chest hair. yikes. his vocals were unique. strange and queer for me at first, but my ears have since adjusted.

There's a video on youtube, Mark Knopfler playing lead guitar on "Sultans Of Swing", Eric Clapton playing rhythmn/backup guitar for him.
Shows how much respect EC has for Mark.

Bob Dylan is a first class songwriter, but for vocals, Mark still slightly better than Bob.

Yeah, Knopfler as a vocalist, I woiuld have to agree with you, although he has his own style.
