Some cases might just purely be misunderstanding and miscommunication.

Its not suprising to have some people to be quoted a sky-high price, but too afraid to raise it up and discuss with the shop owner and settle it like a man but choose to get home, flame the shop in forums. a.k.a keyboard warrior.

At the end of the day, find out the price beforehand, if happy, engage the service. Not happy, change shop. Its only fair that everyone find out the prices beforehand then decide whether to buy or get the service, this way its clear cut and no complain.

Complains should only be in forums if they're cheated, like if they were quoted $100, and when they went back to collect became $200 for no reason, then fair enough, people should avoid it. But just because this shop charges $25 for a service while the next charges $15, there is no reason to avoid this shop just because of that as people should understand that prices vary based on rent etc. A plate of chicken rice costs $2.50 at coffeeshops but $4 at Foodcourts. Does that mean someone have to post on a forum and tell everyone to avoid the foodcourt?

Reason why I say this is that I see many posts "this bike shop charge too high etc', and the answer is of course - too high don't buy lah! No point flaming a bike shop just because the price burns a hole in your pocket.

In the case of 7cycle team, the thing the TS did wrong was to scold the bikeshop without stating what happened, and also not clarifying with the shop, to the extend that the shop have to clarify it online, exactly the same person I am describing in my second sentence.

Could it be bike shop competitors doing the flaming? Free negative marketing.

The guy is basically saying that one should not complain but resolve it with the vendor. Bad service, attempting to cheat, misrepresentation etc should always be raised to alert others. Online forums help in this respect and forces recalcitrant vendors to behave.

High price is a crime in shopper mind, be they Singaporeans, Americans or HongKongers.

Australians and other socialist angmos, before moving to cities and copying Asians' shopping habits, do not see high prices as crimes. :D

You never go China arh. Reviews are worthless. For one good review there is a bad one. Statistically computed, the shop will always be average.

The trouble with complaints is that you hear only one side of the story. It could be biased.

All the people I work with have internet presence not just for advertising, but so that they can respond politely to complaints if any are made anywhere on the net. They surf forums like SBF, STOMP and HWZ daily.

Ministars and heckneys earn million dollar salaries and other perks. Can we choose to boycott or not??

Bro enterprise2, can lah. But only in 2016. :o :(

In the meantime, they can boycott us instead.

2016 vote wisely okay? ;) :)

I have no doubt that will be bias or false claims but these can be addressed. Take the case of BK who handled a complaint from this forum in a very professional manner. I am sure they got high marks for it and a good image.

We should not discourage the alerting of sharp practices. In the west, you can't get away even if there is legal threat as civic minded people will step in, lawyers will offer services pro bono.

In this case, the vendor despite pleas does not want to identify the "miracle" mineral oil used and does not explain why he used it without notifying the young man. Instead the young guy caved in once the lawsuit threat appeared.

Rather than seeking answers this guy post this.

I think this Brian koh chap is right. High prices or you think the shop is out to make a kill, then walk on. Nobody puts a gun at yr head and forces you to buy. But if you had bought a lemon becos the seller was not honest, then it's perfectly ok to tell the world in the easiest, fastest route.
