According to the NP report, this G woman and her daughter would either scream or run off to their bedrooms or cover their faces when a particular TV trailer came on. The daughter would not be able to sleep till 2am and the mother keeps her company.

So, off they went to a Meet-the-people session and told their MP Christopher de Souza their problem - who then raised the matter in the current Parliamentary session.

This incident of course beats the other recent incident where a group of constituents marched to their MP to complain about the fact that the reception for their mobile phones were bad in their area.

Nine-year-old Renée Guerville wanted the nightmares to stop.

She and her five-year-old brother Ryan had been spooked by a scary trailer on Channel 5 that has been screening for weeks.

Renée said the trailer was shown at about 8pm. That night, she could not sleep until about 2am.

She was so concerned she went with her mother to a dialogue with MP Christopher de Souza, who raised the matter in Parliament on Friday.

He wanted to know what measures are in place to ensure trailers for horror or violent movies are not screened on TV before 10 pm.

If she switch to channel 8, she can also view many violent rape scenes from the Chinese dramas, welcome to Mediacorp.

It's a little like this forum.

Discussing the mundane and trival things will take up time and attention, and the serious important issues that ordinary people face will be glossed over.

Frankly, its not a mutually exclusive age related reaction. I get nightmares too after watching any Mediacorp programmes.....
