It reminds me of those "Summary" work that we used to do in English class where we have to summarise a whole passage into 60 words.

<!-- story content : start --> A 46-YEAR-OLD man was fatally stabbed on Monday night near a coffeeshop in Marsiling Lane. Police were notified of a brawl that had broken out between two men at around 10.30pm, at Block 19 Marsiling Lane. When they arrived minutes later, they found odd-job labourer Lim Chin Leong with a stab wound to the left side of his neck. A 50-year-old man is now assisting the police in their investigations.

Mr Lim was believed to have been having drinks with a group of friends when he walked away towards a carpark - about 20m away - to answer a phone call. It was then that another man came up from behind and stabbed him on the neck. He staggered a few metres, before collapsing. No weapon has been recovered, and police have classified the case as murder. Police were seen questioning the 50-year-old man who had also been involved in that earlier dispute at his flat, a few blocks away from where the stabbing had taken place.

It is understood that both men knew each other.
About 15 of the dead man's family members, including his wife and two teenage daughters, were also at the scene. Mr Lim's older sister, 58, said that she was still reeling from the news as her brother, while known to be somewhat hot tempered, did not have a quarrel to pick with anyone. He also did not drink or smoke, she added.

Why did the reporter not report how many minutes it took the police to arrive at the scene? Seems to me that the police always like to wait for the fights to end before they appear. This time it ended with someone getting killed.

Re: Man stabbed in Marsiling

Dun count on the polis too much!

Last time when there is piah chui polis took ages to come when they come only one car came!

By that time many already injured or dead already!

So if you don't have the means to protect yourself you better pray to your God to save you!

If you don't have the means to protect yourself, why join in gang clash riots? I doubt that God would help you if you join in gang clash riotts, without or with whatever means.
