The city of Homs experienced a state of panic in the early hours of Tuesday morning, after unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on the balcony of civilian houses in Beit Al-Tawil streets in Wadi Al-Zahab neighbourhood in Homs city.

The attack left a minor girl dead and a young man from the Alawite community injured, while the attackers managed to escape.

The Syrian Observatory has documented the death of 957 people, including 30 women and 21 children, in murder crimes and eliminations that come under retaliatory actions in different Syrian provinces since early 2025. Here is a regional distribution of fatalities:

  • Damascus: 45 fatalities, including a woman, among them were 25 persons whose death was based on sectarian affiliation.
  • Rif Dimashq: 88 fatalities, including two women, among them were 17 persons whose death was based on sectarian affiliation.
  • Homs: 321 fatalities, including 17 women and eight children, among them were 194 people whose death was based on sectarian affiliation.
  • Hama: 189 fatalities, including five women and four children, among them were 120 people whose death was based on sectarian affiliation.
  • Latakia: 94 fatalities, including four women and six children, among them were 73 people whose death was based on sectarian affiliation.
  • Aleppo: 78 fatalities, among them were three persons whose death was based on sectarian affiliation.
  • Tartus: 69 fatalities, including a woman and a child, among them were 29 people whose death was based on sectarian affiliation.
  • Idlib: 19 fatalities.
  • Al-Suwaidaa: Five fatalities, among them were three persons whose death was based on sectarian affiliation.
  • Daraa: 40 fatalities, including a child.
  • Deir Ezzor: Nine fatalities.
