You may have heard and read about GMS's bullshit about why he is supporting TKL. He spin all this grandmother fairy tales of how TKL impresses him, no different from the tales about selling his flat to stay and take care of his ailing elderly mother, only to happily flew off to HongKong once the election was over. Here are the reasons:
1. The first reason is very obvious. From the Hong Lim minibond event right up to the GE, both have been helping each other on stage. Therefore, GMS has not choice but to reciprocate TKL's support during the GE speaking in NSP rally. Therefore he had to fly all the way from Hongkong to give his speech for TKL.
2. The second reason is less obvious. GMS had mentioned dat he is flying to HK for a job interview in some NGO there. Since GMS is not a lawyer, why do they need a econ graduate with zero experience in organisational management, to help manage an NGO that provides legal aids? It is TKL who helped him. After the GE, GMS intend to stay in HK to try to salvage his marriage with his wife Margaret, and he also need a job there as he cannot be living on his estranged wife. So most probably he could have sound it out to TKL, who promptly contacted his network of friends. One of them, Cheok Yew (formerly from Mediacorps), give this contact to TKL to pass to GMS. With this contact and reference, that is how GMS is able to secure an interview with this NGO. Whether he got the job or not, I am not sure, as this is last month info. That is why GMS have to support TKL, and sing praises about the man who helped him.
However, someone here posted that GMS is trying to avoid helping TKL in his campaign. That is not true. He is infact, beholden to TKL and is obligated to help him. It is true that he got to settle some family matter in Hainan, therefore unable to help TKL more than speaking a the rally. The family matters has somethng to do with a property in Hainan bought by his late father. When his father passed away, the title deed was transferred to his late brother David Goh. When David passed away during GE, according to his relative, the property was transferred to Goh Meng seng. That is why he has to go to Hainan to do the necessary documentation. It is also rumoured that his mistress is from Hainan island, but whether she is there or not nobody knows.
When I saw how GMS rubbished rumours about his extramaritial affairs during TKL rally, I laughed. Margaret would not have run off to Hongkong with the daughter back to her parents, especially when her ailing mother-in-law is in need of care, if there is no problem in their marriage. GMS need not have to sell his flat at all, but instead can rent it out, if Margaret has not insisted so. GMS is just telling a pack of lies that his marriage is presently blissful, when his wife Margaret changed her hp number in Hongkong without even informing him, but informed only his sister Jessie Goh. Margaret and Jessie is in constant contact becos Margaret is still a good and faithful daughter-in-law to GMS's mother, and still worry about her health. If not becos of GMS's mother, Margaret would have divorced GMS long ago, when she knew about GMS's first extramaritial affair 6 years ago (yes, the tampines affair with a PRC was his second)
