More likely 8-10 goals. Lots of talent in MU but not functioning as a team. CR7, Sancho and Varane did not come cheap to add to the team. A pity indeed. Let’s see what takes place at Newcastle over the next couple of months now that $ is no longer THE issue.
It was a mistake to sign CR7. It was never part of the plan. CR7 wanted to sign for Man City. SAF could not stomach that. Neither could Rio and Gary. So they talked CR7 into joining ManU. OGS being the nice guy and subservient ManU player to SAF agreed. Who wouldn't want CR7 in their team right?
Well the problem now is they have a 36 year old player, one of the greatest ever, can still score goals, but doesn't chase balls , doesn't press, doesnt run down channels.
He is a good player in the right team. But not with OGS preferred counter attacking formations. For that you need players that will chase and run and preferably press.
SAF still has massive influence at the club. After he was videoed telling that MMA fighter that you have to start with Ronaldo (best players) OGS is pressured to start CR7 every game. But you have a player who wants to do his own thing. The Galactico.
CR7 doesn't respect OGS as a manager. OGS has won nothing as a manager and CR7 sees himself smarter than OGS (CR7 won more trophies and accolades). CR7 wants to be player manager.
Don't be surprised if that happens in some capacity.
