The great infidelity lie

Since years ago we see the PAP playing the 'infidelity card' on younger sinkees, using all the media to urge them to support their aged parents, and shaming those who shirk this responsiblity.

Does anyone one realise that this is one big fucking scam??

The reason is simple - in first world, democratic countries, govts have pension and social security schemes. In these compassionate countries- it is the job of the govt to take care of the elderly, needy and vulnerable.

So the whole agenda of shaming and upholding asian values is really, an elaborate attempt of the PAP to wash their hands off the duty to take care of singapore's vulnerable. Don't tell me they have no money. They lost 100 billion investing in western banks and cannot spare 1 billion in old age pensions?

In these 1st-world countries, pensions and social security make sense. They believe that children should be free to pursue their dreams, without having to deal with any financial burden or financial concerns of parents. It makes even more sense for a cuntry like sickapore to do this, since our salaries are low and cost of living is high. People are struggling with their own mortgages and jobs, and can ill afford to pay money to their parents.

Ayioh it's the pot calling the kettle black. Yes children have a duty to take care of their parents (except those deadbeat ones) and likewise THE GOVT has a DUTY to take care of it's CITIZENS!!!!!!

So before they start pointing the finger they better take a good look at themselves first!

In very mature western countries...the children ARE NOT EXPECTED to take care financially of their parents...as there are adequate social funds to ensure that all old and aged[ likely sick] will have a decent and respectedly dignified living...like a minimun sun of living sustenance monthly,,free or greatly discounted transport fares..discount of dairy products in food stores..free medical[ varies..some pay medicines only..]
where does these fund come from?? all from their monthly social security contribution and taxes....
ok..we contribute a huge sum to CPF..and also personal tax..property tax[ considered a double taxation in many countries..and not applical there]..not to mention our very high indirect transportation taxex..add-velurun fuel tax. ERP..COE...PARF...road tax[ one of the hoghest in the world..]........
IF WE ADD ALL THESE togethere..we probably pay more taxex than many westerners inEuropes..canada.AUssie.etc...
where did we fail then?????????that our CPF can hardly take care of all our medical needs after retirement..the low wage earners got to get selective social assistance..
now out minitoot VIVIIAAN said that we need to import million or more FOREINERS to take care of our old folks...where the western first worlds[singapore is Asean first world]
can some how handle the social responsibilities of those old ,aged n retired..who have all contributed to the society one way or another,,big or small way....all are taken care off adequately.....
So is there anything that has gone wrongs..after 40+ years of coming to age as a forst world...
THIS IS WHAT WE WANT AND NEED TO HEAR FROM OUR highly intellectual and well- learned minitoots

It's lack of filial piety, not infidelity which means something else.
But you are right. Almost everything this government does is to make the locally born citizens fend for themselves and protect the government coffers. The hardship of the born and bred citizens is not a big concern to them.
It's time to make them understand that they need to change their policies at the polls.

this all works in countries with natural resources..

or atleast the citizens are resourceful enough.. and ventourous enough to venture and develop new companies..

Whether any government in any country helps the aged, if their children are working then they should give part of their wages to support them without even being asked, by them or the state or anybody.

Even if it is a bit (not out of stinginess definitely) like a token sum if necessity constraints were faced it would still be representative of their love for their parents and they would most likely understand and appreciate it as well, if not better. To throw everything to the government when they give nothing would be unreasonable and deplorable.
