In a recent interview, Yong Le’s father, who requested anonymity to safeguard the privacy of his family, said his son sobbed when he was asked to find the missing item, which he had apparently hidden in the school’s garden. A spokesperson for MOE said: “We wish to clarify that the school’s fact finding process was comprehensive, and included the review of CCTV footage. The student had also admitted to taking the item.” Sounds like there was no proof the kid took the item and the teachers had forced the kid to confess that he took it. Very unjust situation and understandable that the boy reacted the way he did.
