PV is not surprised by today’s announcement about the new restrictions which will come into effect on 16 May.
We are not surprised because they were inevitable considering how incompetent and reckless the PAP government has been in re-opening borders despite the obvious rapidly deteriorating Covid situation in India the last few months.
For the second time in successive years, Singaporeans have been let down by a government which has no foresight and wherewithal to protect our public health.
The victims of this gross incompetence are the small and micro-businesses as well as the legion of self-employed.
Any aid funded from the public purse must from now on be directed to saving only the livelihoods of Singaporeans and not to rescue big corporations.
We hope Singaporeans will help each other out in these most difficult of economic times.
