It's hard to keep track of spending when you're away from home. However, now more than ever, travelers are being conscientious about how they allocate their hard-earned money. One of the ways to help make sure you don't blow the budget is to choose a destination that offers overall good value for what you pay for. In the United Kingdom, the Post Office Travel Money Holiday Spending Report survey has recently been released, providing insight into where holidaymakers feel they get the most bang for their buck while they're away from home. The survey looked at 28 destinations, ranking them in order of best to worst value.

28. Scandinavia -

Offering the least value for money was Scandinavia. While there is undoubtedly much beauty to uncover in this region of Europe, the expense involved was off-putting to respondents of this survey.

27. Switzerland -

With one of the highest costs of living in not just Europe but the world, it's unsurprising visitors to Switzerland found the cost-to-value ratio here less inspiring than other destinations.

26. Dubai (United Arab Emirates) -

Accommodation in Dubai is the main expense for travelers, apart from the flight to reach it. While the city offers a safe environment and plenty of attractions to keep busy, it's perceived as giving less value for money than other destinations.
