Singbridge appoints Wong Kan Seng as chairman

Singapore's former Deputy Prime Minister, Wong Kan Seng, has been appointed chairman of Singbridge International Singapore Pte Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore's state-owned investment company, Temasek Holdings.

Mr Wong, who is a Member of Parliament for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC, will succeed Lim Chee Onn, beginning Oct 1, 2011.

In a separate statement, the Prime Minister's Office announced that Mr Wong has been appointed Special Advisor for Economic Cooperation to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

'Mr Wong's primary role is to advise the Prime Minister on Singapore's economic co-operation programmes with China and other Asian countries,' the PMO statement said.

I think its a good idea. We shouldn't squander talent and throw years of accumulated experience. He knows what is good for the country. We should of course also not take into consideration the fact that before GE 2011 in the PAP CEC line up he was in charge of day to day ops of all pap branches and committees and that suddenly post GE and PE, his post to has disappeared

I read this blog and now a days all over world face depression in economy .
Every government want to collect more money they impose heavy tax this condition is worst .
Now they reform in the tax sector.

PM has no faith in younger generation. Consistently relying on old stalwarts.Even last GE fielded only those who had worked as PPS to him. He is obviously worried about 'new blood'. WKS, JY Pillay, Tony Tan..all will die for LKY/LHL.
