Bro, your understanding about Thai South is not deep enough and your argument a bit simplistic based on your views about the Singapore model (which is good).

The 3 Southern Province were once part of the Malay Sultanate. In 1909, they were annexed by Siam as part of Anglo-Siamese Treaty of 1909 negotiated with the British Empire.

In term of language they are Malay speaking and they are Muslim. Very similar to Malaysia instead of the other Thai provinces. So it is not surprising that they do not feel for the rest of the Kingdoms.

Also Thailand is a majority Buddhist nation and speaks Thai (never mind if it is slightly different across different regions), as such it is very muchof a homogenous country and the rest do feel that the South is different.

Generations of misunderstanding, wars etc... and the situation is what it is today.
