Teo Ser Luck: Young PAP is not a place for people to ‘play play’ and make friends
Temasek Times
The Young PAP is a serious political organization and is not a place for people to ‘play play’ and make friends only, warned Young PAP Chairman Teo Ser Luck.
The Young PAP’s image has been tarnished lately by a few members who posted insensitive remarks online, the latest being Jason Neo whose disparaging remarks about Muslims sparked a massive outcry in cyberspace.
In an interview with Lianhe Zaobao, Mr Teo said the members of the Young PAP need to understand what the organization stands for:
“They must understand that the Youth Wing is a serious political organization and not a place for them to play around and socialize.”
(“他们必须明白行青团是一个认真搞政治的组织,不是一个让他们来玩玩或结交关系的地方。”)
He urged them to regard the Young PAP as a start-up instead of a blue-chip company:
“If the Young PAP members regards the party as a large multi-national blue chip company, then we are doomed to fail. We must imagine ourselves as working in a small start-up and serve the people faithfully in order to have a better chance succeeding.”
