SINGAPORE - Speaker of Parliament Tan Chuan-Jin has resigned, after coming under fire this past week for a hot mic comment he made during a Parliament sitting surfaced.
Tampines GRC MP Cheng Li Hui has also resigned, said a statement from Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
Their resignations are necessary to maintain the high standards of propriety and personal conduct which the PAP has upheld all these years, said PM Lee on Monday.
