A 24-year-old man has been arrested in Hougang for unlawful possession of arms and criminal intimidation, the Singapore police said in a press release on Sunday (20 Nov).
The man was arrested at about 6.55am on Saturday (19 Nov), after a 24-year-old man filed a police report alleging that a man used what resembled a pistol to intimidate him while they were engaged in a dispute at a car park near Hougang Avenue 3.
The suspect was arrested within an hour the report was lodged and was found to be in possession of an air pistol, along with plastic pellets and a knife, the police said.
The suspect will be charged on Monday for various offences, including criminal intimidation and unlawful possession of arms. If convicted, he may be liable for life imprisonment and shall also be punished with caning of not less than six strokes.
