But..., but Tiong drivers are on lower wages. Surely a profitable public transport company is for the benefit of all, especially the shareholders?![]()
In conclusion, I would like to say that it would be interesting to see the events that would unfold. They are:
1. How would the govt now take action against these strikers, who have transgressed the law. If none is taken, or if inadequate action is taken, that would signal that future strikes can be staged to the detriment of Singapore's economy with impunity or little punitive action.
2. The govt and many companies will have to take a hard relook at its strategy in employing cheap foreign labour.
Good luck to the PAPpies on this one. It is a pain of their own making.

打狗看主人
hi there
1. bro, bingo!
2. yesterday, the state-owned train system started announcing each location in both english & chinese on trains.
3. damn pretty noisy.
4. why in chinese, is there any necessity?
5. what about tamil & malay?
Thats the problem whne people complain about bus fare increases. SMRT need to cut cost.
It already did by cutting down on essential maintenance and going for cheap and unreliable non-QCed cable ties and third world manufactured generators.
After this incident, I felt unsafe taking bus driven by PRC driver. What if they suddently gone crazy, took a loadful of bus passengers and crashed into a building bringing with them all the innocent lives? Gosh!!! I wouldn't want to discount such possibilities given that foreigners are capable of being brutal than most Singaporeans.

Unfortunately for these clueless PRCs, they will be punished. These PRCs are the weirdest persons on earth, always asking for "rights". They come to Singapore because of a good deal. They get $1100 a month before OT. That's almost 6000RMB. .
The PAP have dealt with the likes of the HOCK LEE bus riots before, the old man's 50 years series databank would have provided the solution.
PRC bus drivers who dare to strike could have their work permits cancelled, deported ASAP and blacklisted from reentering permanently.
Can always hire other FT bus drivers; Myanmar, Viets, Laos etc.
The leaders will be sent back immediately while the rest will not have their contracts renewed. All of them will be replaced very soon.
