Holding the woman in an armlock, the man grabbed her hair, dragged her around and scolded her.

Stunned by what he was seeing in the Geylang pub, another patron, Mr Koh Ee Hock (above), 45, decided to intervene.

He shouted at the man not to treat the woman like a dog.

For standing up to the bully, Mr Koh was later injured by the man and two of his friends in an attack involving a kitchen knife and chopper.

On Wednesday, his three assailants – Yap Kian Yong, 35, Henry Ong Hock Heng, 35, and Lombard Leon, 33 – were jailed for the attack.
