No response from bank on house loan request

<!-- by line --><!-- end by line -->

MY HUSBAND and I have an existing house loan with Standard Chartered Bank, and recently we submitted a capital repayment and reduction of loan tenure request.
The bank sent us a confirmation letter dated May 14 that our request, dated May 11, for capital repayment to be effected on June 18 has received attention. But we have not received any letter or telephone call since. We called the mortgage department and to our surprise, our request for a revised two-year loan tenure has been rejected and the $500,000 repayment has been cleared by the bank.
We called the bank from July 7 to 19 and even submitted an online request. Until now, we have spoken to customer service officers who have put up a 'call back' request for us. But no one called back.
We also received a letter from the bank stating that there is insufficient payment for the loan repayment amount as the bank system is not updated with the revised amount.
The matter has been escalated to the customer care unit, where we managed to speak to an officer who was supposed to check and revert but did not. There is no direct line or e-mail address, with only the central operator who keeps saying 'we will arrange a call back'.
What can we do next?

This is the problem when businesses are taken over by a sinkie concern. They start to behave like the emperor and his loony son.

No need to response or offer any apology! Boh hu lan!

Instead of communicating with those assholes over the phone and email, Miss Chan should have gone down personally to the bank and bang table and create a scene.

So Simple.

Just send a lawyer notice to the bank detailing your questions and position on this matter.

The response and reply will be quick and magical.

Besides, a lawyers notice will also protect you later on.

Did the phone call get directed to some ulu location in India ?

If the idea was to redeem the mortgage because she made a loan repayment in full, she would have been asked to contact a lawyer with all the necessary documents in place before she would be asked to part with her money.
