Ah sai @eatshitndie
Shit has hit the fan , spattered on the wall.
how many are actually sick requiring hospitalization? if it’s only 6.9%, it’s good that more get infected and acquire natural immunity, including the vaccinated. best is to get vaccinated, not go to hospital, and becum stronger with natural immunity kicking in. getting infected means shit. sinkies shouldn’t panic over meaningless numbers.

I thought Singapore was one of the successful countries with stopping transmission?

They boasted about NCID. Contsct tracing. SHN. Quarantines.

What happened?
My uncle think oyk still thinking sg is 1 of the most successful cuntries with controlling & stopping transmission- everything is in placed .Current situation is inevitable according to him in order to live with covid19. Some will succumb to it during this process but he never say is himself ready to succumb hence my uncle leecomend a storm to every corner of sg to have a proportional spread to be fair. More importantlee in this video he is still boasting.

How will they sell booster shots without media-driven paranoia? :sneaky:

If the government can hold an election poll in the midst of the covid pandemic, can they not try one mass vaccination day in the lockdown period and get all the remaining 20% vaccinated and also those needing booster shot? Why all the preparations for more beds, more care centers , more mortuary cases, and home recovery programs and getting the army to support if we can nip the bud of uncertainty?

We will always be struggling with uncertainty if the population is not fully vaccinated. Those who do not wish to go for the vaccination make their choice to be at the mercy of the virus. Let them be. Like the vote for the candidate to represent them in their constituency , they choose to vote for uncertainty. But those who decide to get vaccinated, they'll know that they are at least protected from severe illness if they should come down with Covid. If we can get 90% to 95% vaccinated, we have a good chance that we can achieve herd immunity.

Yes, the covid will not go away even if we all get vaccinated, but in this new normal, it will just be like a seasonal flu. Stay home for a few days, rest and recover. Life can then go back to normal. We can go out with a ease of mind.

You're daft if you still believe the vaccines are useful at all. An 82% 'fully' vaxxed population and things are getting worse, not better. There is no herd immunity.

Perhaps it's better to step back from the establishment political-medical hubris and explore why countries with a much lower vaccination rate are doing far better. Don't be Israel 2.0.

Unless of course, you want this situation to persist, for whatever reason. Money? Control?

I like to believe that the home recovery program will keep the virus in control, but I seriously doubt that it will work. If you are isolated at home with your family, it is highly probable that your family will also be infected. Now , with the rising number of cases and hospitals are only tending to the really sick, you bet the case will not rise even higher if majority of the original infected case are asked to do home quarantine. Not all Singaporeans are living in 5 room bungalow where each member of household has his own bedroom and bathroom. This is perhaps one reason the cases will continue to skyrocket.

Lockdown is definitely the first thing the government needs to do to stem the spread of the virus. Second, quarantine in controlled centers , not home. Third, mass vaccination so that everyone is protected. The virus won't go away. Everyone knows that, but how we manage the spread is important. The statistics don't lie. Only we do not know what we do not know.

The plot thickens with those who rent an apartment or have roommates, or have another living arrangement. Good luck!

The real question is : What will Singaporeans do about it????

Will you go against the covid rulings and tell the minister to resign?
Or you still be an obedient sheep? You know that this vaccine is causing the spread and not the virus. You know the PCR test are useless and give false positive.

The real question is what will SINGAPOREANS DO ABOUT IT?

Singaporeans will do what they want to do. Nobody can tell them what to do. It is their choice.

Patient autonomy!

So far it looks like vast majority choose to get the immunotherapy. 82% they say?

Hey that's way more than the 61% PAP supporters meaning also oppies.

Ehh... to put it bluntly, the home recovery program is to prevent health care system from collapsing. Our nurses & doctors in hospitals are highly overworked and highly exhausted.

The authorities are trying to burn both ends of the candle. Keep the economy humming at a fast rate and keep people from dying from covid, hopefully at a slower rate. All these are happening in a highly infectious environment. Death for a few is not a bad thing for the benefit of the majority healthy and vaccinated ones. Too bad if you have chronic illnesses or if you are not vaccinated. It is the virus. Don't blame the authorities.

Wear a mask.

General public health information
Protect yourself and others around you by knowing the facts and taking appropriate precautions. Follow advice provided by your local health authority.

Check with your local health authority for the most relevant guidance for your region.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19:
Maintain a safe distance from others, even if they don’t appear to be sick.
Wear a mask in public, especially indoors or when physical distancing is not possible.
Choose open, well-ventilated spaces over closed ones. Open a window if indoors.
Clean your hands often. Use soap and water, or an alcohol-based hand rub.
Get vaccinated when it’s your turn. Follow local guidance about vaccination.
Cover your nose and mouth with your bent elbow or a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
Stay home if you feel unwell.

If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention. Call in advance so your healthcare provider can direct you to the right health facility. This protects you, and prevents the spread of viruses and other infections.

Everyone is already wearing masks and infection rates keep rising which proves beyond all reasonable doubt that masks don't work.

Or could it be that if masks are not worn, the numbers would have been many more times higher?

Ok, relax and chill... I am not looking for your furious counter arguments and for you to put up copious amount of useless data to support your views. I am simply asking you to keep an open mind.

The authorities have tacitly admitted that they have opened up too fast and too wide leading to the sharp rise in cases and increased death toll. Instead of saying they are making a U - turn, they are saying that they are making adjustments to smoothen the "bumps" on the highway to endemic living. If the authorities are true to their predictions that the opening up will generate a 4th or 5th wave of rising infections up to a point when it starts to plateau and then tapers down, then they should let the opening up run its full course. The fact that they are now tightening the measures show that they have underestimated the outcomes. Obviously, they have presumed that the cases cannot be that bad given the fact that 80% of the population is vaccinated , mask wearing is still a mandate and safety measures are still in place. If they have studied the outcomes of some other countries with high vaccination rates that have opened up their economies, they would have known that there are still plenty of uncertainties to deal with.

This is not a normal situation. We are dealing with an unprecedented problem. To stop the virus , we have to stop interacting at least for a while. The more the social interaction, the more opportunity the virus spreads and continues to live and pass on. Quarantine the affected at controlled centers, stop the influx of imports and wait out. The virus dies out in 14 days, and during this period , all of us get vaccinated. This may work out to be a surer game plan to combat the virus.
