S'pore couple quits well-paying jobs and moves to Australia

In spite earning less in Australia, this couple now live in a landed home and own 2 cars. Their daily routines have changed in ways that feel meaningful. This reminds me of a Malaysian couple - husband is an engineer and wife is a teacher - who owns a landed home and 2 cars in Penang. They have a far better quality of life than a similar PMET couple in S'pore. Both these couples actually earn more now outside of S'pore because they enjoy a far higher standard of living and quality of life.

Sinkieland is a comfortable prison... a prison of the body, mind and soul. Some people view the imprisonment as a reasonable trade-off for the comfort (PAP-speak: 'stability'). Others disagree. That's the way it is.

I find it hard to believe that the couple had to work 12 hours on weekdays and never switched off from work. Outside of office hours, the husband claimed that work continued to follow them home, with constant WhatsApp messages and emails. Which Civil Service job in S'pore comes this close to the intensity of the corporate world?

How can S'pore be comfortable when 4 in 5 newly created jobs go to foreigners?

That is really weird. Australians are coming to south east asia for a more balanced lifestyle. South koreans, Japanese and china Chinese too.

The Aussies cannot find PMET jobs at home while the Mainland Chinese are in S'pore to launder their money.

Good move..... make sure do good investment, plant own food, fish and live without having to work on self-sufficient mode.
