The rise in unemployment hit resident degree-holders the hardest. Their unemployment rate rose to 4.3 per cent in June, from 3.5 per cent in the same period last year - the highest level since 2009.

And this is really not a truthful picture for 2016.........
Private school grads can get jobs too

Not only do private school graduates find it harder to land jobs but, on average, they also command noticeably lower starting salaries.

in singapore if u are highly educated, joining the civil or military service with 2nd uppers from local uni, will guarantee you a lifetime income in excess of 2-3million (inflation adjusted) till retirement + 5 day work week.

Very often, many entrepreneurs work 6-7 days a week and make less than their counterparts in civil or military service.

so, why rock the boat when u are quite safe (with 2nd uppers)?

my old friend from army, last rank a LTC, left to join resort world as security. i told him that you are farked! before that, i even told him that i regret not signing on but he insist on leaving the force. i guess it's up to individual. he was probably sick of the army. another old friend from PA, left to become property agent, now proerty market so bad, he end up in maid agency. choices are theirs, they will definitely look back when they hit the bump.

LTC is deemed a dozen in SAF now. It's not high and it not low. You know you are really F when you are in the middle of no where.

I don't see what's the problem when based on data you quoted, 96% of the sinkie graduates can secure good jobs.

no...no...local grads are good academically but they lack exposure to the outside world. so first step, must send them overseas to explore and see how the amdk work in corporate world.

They are supposed to be smart people. If they can't land jobs because of the government, then they should be desperate enough to bring down the government. If they don't do something, then they deserves to be unemployed.
