Song for my funeral

I'd like my body to be burnt on a raft and drifted out to sea with this playing.....

best one in this thread, so far.
I listened a few times after you posted.

When I was young, i felt the tune was nice.
When I am older, I realize the lyrics also meaningful.

Listen to this version with the long intro sung by 黄沾 himself along with 徐克 and 罗大佑, feels really more 江湖...

It's the mandarin version, no favour loss.
Jolly brave-front on surface but helplessness about life and sadness underneath.

This tune is very calm and soothing to listen to.

I'll like to have the SSO play Mozart's Requiem at my wake. The Lacrimosa is hauntingly beautiful.

I am surprised no one mentioned My Way by Frank Sinatra. I have instructed my kids to play this song on a loop. No other songs or hymns (God forbid!) allowed.

Folks, this is the official funeral anthem. So, if you ever walked by a funeral wake and hear this song playing, come in and say goodbye to me. Your fellow Samster.:biggrin:

Choosing a song for your funeral can be a deeply personal decision. It's a way to leave behind a lasting memory that reflects your personality and the impact you've had on others.
I've been thinking about my own funeral arrangements lately, and I believe it's important to plan ahead while you still can. Direct cremation seems like a practical option to me, allowing for a simple and respectful farewell.
Ultimately, the choice of song should be something meaningful to you and your loved ones, something that brings comfort and fond memories during a difficult time.
