Chitchat SMRT CEO replacement underway

I did indicate 2 weeks ago that cabinet had forced the 3 clowns to apologise. I also indicated that CEO would go.

The discreet search has begun and one of those approached is the previous American CEO of HK MTR.

The political capital has been damaged and surprises can no longer be tolerated. The previous CEO of LTA was removed when the HK press revealed the return of faulty carriages and the Minister was not notified.

The recently appointed Chairman has done his assessment and it is likely that professional qualified in rolling stock operations will be recruited for key management positions.

The fear is that no one qualified will touch this poisoned chalice and thus the secrecy. On identification of a willing candidate, the Chairman has been asked cover the CEO role.

I am sure not only Singaporeans but SMRT employees will welcome this overdue change.

I only welcome the change in CEOs provided there is a suitable CEO or chairman role for general Desmond. I want my kids to follow in Desmond's role and I am sure there are tens of thousands of sinkies who wish for their kids to have iron rice bowl careers like Desmond's.

Bro,
Let's not kid ourselves. A change in the CEO might not be able to turn the tables around. Imagine a new CEO in place and those tracks and/or signal faults continue to plague the system. The chips on their table is running low...

The change is not just the CEO, I am told the Air Force Engineer will go as well.

More importantly it will allow the Govt to buy time.

I thought the more amazing part was they could force Ho Ching to give way.

When the Chairman bowed, it means that he is prepared to act or told to act. No one will bow in apology unless he leaves for good or he knows that decision to address quickly has been made.

Then again you might be right in that the issue is the political leadership. So nothing will happen.

They have no choice. Lets see what happens next. Their fear is that no one will touch the post or last like the MAS 2 ang mo CEOs debacle. In the end we may have to live with Desmond till the bitter end.

The mention of American ceo - somehow the name chip Goodyear comes to mind.

I'll only believe it when i see it. This would be a landmark move because its an admission the parachuted-general scheme is flawed. It goes even further back. 1st ceo was the wife. 2nd one was hubby's attempt at repair. Its like 2 strikes against the monarchy.

There is precedence but the press will never reveal it. The latest was the removal of LTA CEO over the faulty trains. The first SAF scholar to be removed was PS MTI, same batch as LHL for misleading LHL during OSA. Had to find work in HK. Came back to a GLC and took a minor role.

This cronyism has to stop, the appointment of clearly unqualified people to top posts (SMRT, UOB, etc) has to stop. I beseech our government to stop all this. Our lives and our society at large depend on them to make good and objective decisions. Think of the people first for once, forget the old thinking of consolidating power and protecting your self interests. Do the right thing by the people, then perhaps one day in the future, we can actually be proud to be sinkies again.

The CEO will be reporting to Ho Ching. You and I know what the end result will be. He'll quit after 6 months.

You mean they are looking for another "goodyear"?...the last one, he came, he saw, he said " f#$%%k" & left. They can search the whole globe for a CEO to "improve" SMRT, it will still be a cosmetic thing, for SMRT is still connected to the ruling party.

The answer so clear to see, is the rot is not coming from the bottom of SMRT, yes!, it is rotting & it stinks, but goes all the way to the top & to the 'connector'. You clean up the 'tree' with external pest control, the internal one is hopeless, is no use, the 'termites' can still come in, for the 'tree is connected to the termite nest' To revamp the entire SMRT, you need to get rid of the 'nest of termites'. That, the 'stoned cold' 70% can never understand.

Other than that, it will be looking for another "GOODYEAR".

Don't you all worry...Kuek will get a fat golden handshake and another top placement in another GLC.
Join a bank like wong cunt sing ...most likely one, that, his 'parent company' owns....no need to draw a picture right? "members have their privilege".

There were a number of changes to the board in recent months including the Chairman. One interesting person is Lee Fook Sun, President scholar, former MSD chief under whose watch an SAF Chief was removed nearly 25 years ago.

In ST he was asked to look at rail infrastructure for the future. This person and the new Chairman that seem to be running the new agenda.

They are however all from the House of Ho (ST) so their interest is to look after her interest first and foremost. So don’t expect to see Ho looking bad.

/

can you initiate to get the Board of Directors replaced first ???

It wont surprise me one bit. The board shuffle only brought in more people from ST, all from Aunty Ho’s stronghold. That speaks volumes. It shows that Khaw and Cabinet have no teeth. That is until the flooded train tracks.

Let’s see what happens. Is the PAP or Aunty Ho stronger?

The CEO will be reporting to Ho Ching. You and I know what the end result will be. He'll quit after 6 months.
