Terrorist will spare their effort from attacking Singapore when they knew we have a lousy government and their CEO (specially selected from army camp), killing the people slowly.

Why are sinkies so weak? They get so easily hurt and fractured by mere train collisions.

SINGAPORE - Two commuters sustained injuries that were categorised as “major emergencies” - and another 26 people were injured - when a stalled SMRT train was hit from behind by another one at Joo Koon MRT.

The collision took place at around 8am on Wednesday (Nov 15) during the morning peak hour when trains are usually packed. The first train had stalled as it entered Joo Koon MRT.

The incident led to major delays on the East-West Line. At the same time, the Circle Line was hit by a major disruption said to have been caused by a door fault.

Twenty-three passengers and two SMRT staff sustained light to moderate injuries, and were taken conscious to the National University Hospital (NUH) and Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.

Another three passengers sought treatment at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital later in the afternoon, bringing the total number of injured treated there to 13.

Nine passengers have been treated and discharged, two are being treated, and two others are currently hospitalised for observation.

A hospital spokesman said that two patients were assessed to have sustained injuries under the P2 category, or “major emergencies”, such as limb fractures and joint dislocation. The rest sustained relatively minor injuries, such as sprains.

Out of the 15 sent to NUH, one declined treatment and returned home, while 13 received treatment and have been discharged. One passenger is still currently hospitalised for observation.

The Ministry of Transport, Land Transport Authority (LTA) and SMRT said in a statement that they are in touch with these injured passengers to offer the necessary assistance.

The Straits Times understands that the incident has to do with a malfunction of the new signalling system.

It is disappointing that the WP has chosen to capitalize on this unfortunate incident to score political points for their partisan interest. They should have instead closed ranks with PAP and all sinkies in giving their support to the good Minister Khaw and good CEO Kuek.

The Workers’ Party is disturbed to learn about the MRT train collision this morning which saw 23 commuters and two SMRT staff injured, including at least two with major injuries. Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured.

We call on SMRT to render all necessary support to them, and ensure that the company covers all their medical expenses resulting from this incident, including any long-term treatment costs.

The collision occurred when a moving train hit a stationary train at Joo Koon station. The collision suggests a failure of the systems that ought to prevent such an event, which presumably should have several levels of checks.

While facts are still emerging, we ask that the LTA will work with the SMRT to undertake an exhaustive root cause analysis and make the necessary system improvements to minimise the risk of such an accident recurring.

Millions of Singaporeans depend on the MRT for their daily commute. They should not have to worry about their safety when they travel to and from home, work, or school.

Better bring bandages and crutches and plasma next time you board SMRT trains
Be Prepared!

Carrying your own coffin will be overkill at this stage.
But who knows in the future

Your callousness shines through, understandably with your relentless support for the SMRT regime.

Is Desmond now butt hurt (excuse the pun)?:oops:

If the oppies were in charge, the entire mrt system would have crashed by now, with all the sinkies fleeing from the flames engulfing the train stations.

Be grateful that the damage today has been minimised thanks to the combined talents of Khaw and Desmond.

No need oppies, better to bring back No-Porn Lui Tuck Yew or even Raymond Lim, rather than this humbug who likes to give the impression that he is very capable and calm, when actually he is no better than anyone else.

my uncle say nipple-man stupid to volunteer for transport. If he smart he will volunteer for other scope. He should know the system was not built to handle the population so when time come this will happen.

It wouldn't be surprising if Lui or Raymond had told LHL some hard truths and he didn't like what he heard so he went looking for a "problem solver". Up stepped the self pro-claimed "problem solver" and here is where the problem is: He has deluded even himself that he could solve the problems and certainly managed to delude his boss. Anytime there is trouble, he finds some excuse or pushes the buck to someone or somewhere else.

And that is why Nipple-man should step down immediately.
