According to Prof John Wong of NUH, Dr Lu “was not aware of the charges”, as the summons to the hearing was sent to the wrong address in the US. Also, by then, he was already working in Singapore. Because of his non-appearance at the hearing, his licence to practise was revoked. Even now, Dr Lu’s medical licence in the State of Florida in the US remains “revoked”.

However, even if Dr Lu “was not aware of the charges”, is he aware that selling prescription drug without first examining the patient is an offence under the medical laws of most jurisdictions in the world?

Prof Wong further added, “When we’re young, we tend to do things that are not smart.” Mr Sim, CEO of NUH also defended Dr Lu, saying it was a “dumb mistake”.

At the time of his offence in 1999, he was already 29 years old with a medical licence to save lives. Is Prof Wong implying that he was too young to be a doctor to save lives back in 1999 too?

Declaring that he was not a subject of any disciplinary proceedings, Dr Lu even later served as an independent director of a public listed company, Healthway Medical Corporation Ltd, from July 2009 to March 2012 (‘Dr Lu was a Director of a public listed company and declared he was not a subject of any past disciplinary proceedings‘).

I reckon that the verdict will be at most a fine and money is not problem to him......it was a honest mistake when he was young, so move on lah

How come this stupid Prof John Wong of NUH is able to take this excuse of the Foreign Trash Dr Lu?

To cite an example which many bros here are aware: In the recent on-line-sex with underaged prostitute cases, the excuse "not aware" (that she was underaged at that time) is no excuse for defense.

So in short, John Wong is saying if you had been a hot blooded young man at age 29 whatever you do that was illegal then, even if it was done in other countries, can be forgiven and forgotten after you have reached the age of 42?

So shouldn't those who had been charged and/or imprisoned or fined or suspended should have their whatever status re-enstated to their pervious clean state?
