This is almost four times the number of students supported when the fund started a decade ago............ this year (2011), the fund aims to raise $5 million to cover $4.5 million in disbursements and associated costs .....

I feel sorry for SM Jayakumar. He was appointed as Senior Minister only on 1 April 2009 but had to retire the earliest and before the election. Why didn't they ask him to wait a bit longer and retire together?
