Singapore's Silver Tsunami

Failure Yeo is chairman of the silver hair movement. What has he done? Just draw big fat monthly salaries n perks! NO accountability at all .......... Sr Adviser to PM - bah!!

Ignoring this ageing issue will bring severe consequences..sending aged singaporeans away is PAP's solution but it spells of moral bankruptcy which will have long term implications on Singapreans attitude towards their country.

NS guys will rationalise..."why shd I serve NSF and be a NSman during my peak years, only to be discarded by my country in my sunset years?". This is a valid rationalisation which the SG govt has to reconcile.

It is already happening......... where is the NS revolt???

Really a curse to turn grey in Singapore...Better run road while you can!!!

This is a tragedy.

you have the "stop at two" policy to thank, really. the creation of nucleated families is a direct result of such draconian act.
in such high handed manner, an entire generation of our populace are driven away from their basal instincts, ie, multiplying & reproducing. social fabric started eroding, policy makers then thought it was a norm for smaller pigeon holes to be planned for. large family gatherings became increasingly difficult, providing a positive feedback in reinforcing the further erosion of family values. the careful manipulation of racial quota may have prevented racial enclaves but hindered the cohesion of family ties. now folks enjoyed a better quality of life, you thought it would be easy to make them forego the luxury?

How abt the poor and sick who cant migrate? Not all Singaporeans can migrate even if they want to.

Those who qualify and can migrate are the least of our concern...it's those who have no choice who are the issue

Have you not read the book 'ANIMAL FARM' which this place is not far from it? After reading this book continue with another book 'THE GIVER' by the same author. I am surely you will be enlightened thereafter in how senior citizens will be dealt with in due course. The concept expounded in The Giver can be seen in the idea of our previous Health Minister who is now the Development Minister. Of course it was less drastic than that in The Giver but for sure it will soon be a thing of reality starting with the carting off of Boxer the cart horse in Animal Farm. :)

Opps sorry on recollection I don't think the author of The Giver is the same as that of Animal Farm. Cannot remember the name of the author. May be you would like to Goggle it for the name of the author. My apology, lady.

Singapore is an ageing society, with most married couples preferring to have
one child or none, out of fear that they won't be able to
support them.
That will be a problem for the country's future performance. If u hv less
people, that means u hv a small market n small scale of labour
source,and that's not ideal for a country's future.
The PAP short-term solution for the sake of high annual GDP growth rates (to justify their abnormal high ministerial salaries ) is to import foreign labour at the expense of Singaporeans. That means, targeting high annual GDP growth rates at all costs even to the extent of ruthless marginalization n cruel displacement of Singaporeans in their homeland called Singapore.
Singaporeans have been betrayed ,manipulated n exploited by the traitorous PAP for decades but these accumulation of problems in our pressure cooker society will snowballed to a boiling point n explode in the face of the corrupt n self-serving PAP eventually !
High GDP rates means high salaries & bonuses for the PAP ministers.
High GDP rates do not increase the quality of life for the majority of Singaporeans.
Importing of Foreign Labour by the PAP is only a short-term solution NOT in the
interests of Singsporeans !!!
Knnccb to the PAP !!

bro, we need more input from you :o:o:o

erm... bro, we have folks in the lower rungs of the social strata having more kids when compared to the richer folks.
me suspect it was more of a reluctance to forego their way of life for the richer folks when it comes to child bearing :p:p:p
tinkering with the population figures would usually bring about nasty consequences. look no further at the example from PRC, 4 adults raising a grandchild, this 富二代 syndrome will be one huge problem PRC is facing right now.

God Knows This

hey TT....did you watch the movie ' soylent Green '?

That would be the ideal ' final ' solution to the silver tsunami problem. :p

I don't think old rooster or hen meat is tastier. God told me it is tastier if ...
