An elderly pedestrian had a tense encounter with a delivery rider at the junction of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 and Serangoon North Avenue 6 on Feb 24.
According to Stomper Teo, who witnessed the stand-off at 12.52pm, the old man had the right of way on the pedestrian crossing when a delivery rider ran a red light, almost hitting him.
After allegedly getting scolded by the elderly pedestrian, the rider is seen turning back, riding against oncoming traffic and narrowly avoiding a silver van — apparently to chase the elderly man down.
At the Serangoon North Ave 6 junction, the rider continued to cross at a red pedestrian light, pointing his finger at the elderly man in a confrontational manner.

The pair can be seen gesturing at each other animatedly after the rider stopped beside the pavement.
According to Teo, the situation de-escalated only when the old man kept walking away.
The Stomper, who witnessed the exchange while in his car, said he was ready to intervene if the rider became violent.
"I parked my car by the side and observed the confrontation, thinking if he attacked the old man, I would have to get out of the car and do something," Teo said.
The Stomper accused the rider of committing at least four traffic offences: running a red light, riding against traffic, crossing a junction meant for pedestrians on a motorised bike, and crossing at a red pedestrian light.
Teo also commented on what he felt was a growing problem of delivery riders breaking traffic rules and acting aggressively.
"Even if authorities don't catch this rider, it's good to bring it up to the public so that behaviour like this can be condemned," he said.
In the videos, the rider can be seen in a helmet and a green top resembling a GrabFood shirt, with a pink Foodpanda basket attached to his personal mobility device.
When contacted by Stomp, both Foodpanda and Grab declined to comment, citing difficulty in accurately identifying the rider and determining which platform he was delivering for at the time of the incident.
