[h=2]Singaporeans continue to complain non-stop on PM Lee’s Facebook on Vesak Day[/h]Posted by temasektimes on May 5, 2012
It may be a public holiday and a holy day for Buddhists today, but disgruntled Singaporeans continue to complain non-stop on the Facebook page of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
PM Lee had posted a message on his Facebook page this morning wishing all Buddhists Happy Vesak Day:
“I would like to take this opportunity to wish all Buddhists Happy Vesak Day as you celebrate the birth of Buddha.”
While most netizens reciprocated the goodwill, some continue to heckle PM Lee, one of whom is Mogan Sellapan who wrote there’s nothing to be happy about:

His comment posted a stern rebuke from Rebecca Lim:
“Vesak day is not about PM read this post or not is not even about him, is about Buddha and Buddhist and their celebration, if u can’t even give some respect to this post on a religious celebration, may be that explain why u r such unhappy people, there is some good Buddhist scripture out there which can help manage that emotion do check them out.”
Another Singaporean Mohamed Ali added:
“Do you all really think the PM reads all this?? I give up on u all…. U all are like talking to an imaginary post… Wake up singapore, wake up….”
Former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew once famously chided Singaporeans as ‘champion grumblers.’ Judging from the outpouring of grievances and frustration on PM Lee’s Facebook over the past few days, it appears there is some element of truth in his words after all.
