SINGAPORE, March 30 (Reuters) - Singapore's central bank said on Wednesday that Ravi Menon will become its managing director from April 2, replacing Heng Swee Keat.

Heng is likely to enter politics.

Menon is currently permanent secretary at the Ministry of Trade and Industry. He was an assistant managing director at the Monetary Authority of Singapore back in 2002. (Reporting by Kevin Lim)
