SINGAPORE — While walking behind a woman at Tampines East MRT station, a man used a disposable razor to shave his chin.

Clement Sng Tze Min later walked past the woman and tried to shave her chin. His action caused a deep cut on the woman’s chin.

Sng, 39, admitted to one count of voluntarily causing hurt in the State Courts on Monday (22 July).

He also pleaded guilty to five counts of mischief for removing pin number guards from ATMs, and one count of voluntarily causing hurt to his elder brother. Ten other counts, including for theft in dwelling, are to be taken into consideration for his sentencing.

On 26 November last year, Nur Fathiah Sukri, the 19-year-old victim, was exiting Tampines East MRT station at around midnight. Sng followed her while using a disposable razor to shave his chin.

As Fathiah approached an escalator, Sng quickened his pace and overtook the victim on her right. He placed the razor on Fathiah’s chin and tried to shave it, said Deputy Public Prosecutor Tan Zhi Hao.

The woman sustained a 1cm cut on her chin and sought medical treatment at a hospital.

On 15 April 2017, Sng removed pin number guards from two HSBC ATMs at Suntec City. A pin guard is used to shield a pin number panel from prying eyes. He threw away the pin guards, which were worth $85 each.

Sng also removed three other pin guards from other HSBC ATMs on separate occasions.

A HSBC staff later lodged a police report about the incidents, which were captured by CCTV cameras.

None of the pin guards were recovered. Sng offered to make voluntary restitution to HSBC, but was rejected.

On 5 March last year, Sng got into a fight with his elder brother, Sng Chee Hiong, over house cleaning.

Sng complained that the floor was dirty and accused his brother of not mopping the house properly. Chee Hiong threw the mop in front of his younger brother in anger and told him to mop the floor himself.

Sng, who was holding on a porcelain mug, then hit his brother on the head, causing the mug to shatter. Chee Hiong’s hand was cut by a shard from the mug.

A scuffle ensued and was stopped after family members intervened. Chee Hiong sustained bruises and swelling over the right hand.

Sng will be sentenced at a later date.

Today: shaving a woman's chin.

Tomorrow: slitting a woman's throat.

Or random stabbing incidents, like in Japan. Will be fun if it happens during congested rush hour.
